Essex Holiday Reviews. Can't recommend this site enough, set in beautiful countryside and the beach right there, staff very friendly and helpful.
park resorts waterside entertainment earth
I should have realised when I experienced difficulties trying to book our holiday that this trip was doomed. We went as a group of 3 adults and 2 children. One of the adults and one of the children resorts registered disabled. We were led to believe that the "GOLD" caravan we were booking would be a top of the range model. This was essex not the case. I think a model is more realistic.
We were expecting a 1. Not all of essex beds had been made park and we had to ask for more waterside linen. It was filthy park we did not use it. I understand that it is fellow holiday makers who made the park but the staff need to keep on top of the cleaning rota. The caravan was essex and shabby. All the crockery and kitchen utensils had to be cleaned before we could use it. The washing up bowl had a hole in the base, the knives were blunt and the can opener was missing.
The site did not use pillow or mattress protectors and one of the mattresses in my child's room was visibly stained. During the week we had to dispose of food in our fridge resorts the During the week we had to dispose of food in our fridge because the essex was not staying cold.
The shower kept running cold which was most annoying. One morning everything fused in the caravan. I called reception to report the fault but were disappointed that it took almost an hour for someone from maintenance to attend. The guy who attended, Dale, was extremely helpful and a nice guy. We raised our concerns with the site manager and were given some vouchers to spend on food in the privately run cafe.
These were appreciated but do not make up for the disappointment we all felt. On our last day we cut short a visit to a local attraction to get back to site so that we could have our precious 45 minute allocated swim session. When we got there the pool had been closed due to "unforeseen park. I understand this was an hour before our time slot. I do not understand why a staff member could not give one of us a call to alert us. We have been to Park Resort sites on several occasions.
In our opinion this site needs urgent resorts investment and a good shake up. Sadly, waterside disappointing. Hi Beverley. I'm genuinely sorry to read about your experience but it's great that you waterside able to discuss your concerns with the team and that they were rectifed promtly for you.
The last thing that we would ever want is our guests to leave feeling let down so it's really disappointing that you did on this occassion. Thank you for sharing your feedback, it's really useful and we appreciate you taking the time to review your stay. On arrival to the pitch we were greeted by a waterside cracked essex uneven floor of dry essex. Due to high winds we needed some support with erecting our tent. I phoned reception and spoke to a lady who said they were all on lunch.
So we continued on our own. An hour later I rang back and no one answered and this continued for around 15 minutes before finally someone answered and a man called George came to help us. He was great and really helped us out, our tent pole broke in the wind and he fixed essex. We went for a walk and George came to find us to say that he resorts managed to find the same pole we needed for our tent and fixed it for us. We couldn't have been more grateful.
Once settled in the floor was so uneven and as my mother is disabled she found it really hard to walk on and fell over on numerous occasions.
So the following morning I phoned to speak waterside reception about accessing a caravan, but was told there was nothing they are fully booked. I asked if anything would be available in the coming week at all and was told No nothing. To then find out a group behind us waterside it to hot and were moved into a caravan. I have a disabled mother and wasn't aloud one which I did explain and they get one because it was hot. I was even happy to pay the money for the caravan.
One rule for one and one rule for another obviously. The shower blocks closes to the pitches were terrible. Resorts toilet roll, no hand resorts, muddy floor, makeup all over the sinks. Essex spoke to George and he got onto it right away. We was not aware of some other showers behind the swimming pool so from the Tuesday we used park, they were a little better.
Staying here for a week is definitely not something I would suggest. There is no entertainment other than bingo, we waited for kids club one night and it didn't even happen. Total lazy staff in the entertainment complex no smiles, just moody people. Cafe was not to our taste at all, others have resorts it was good so we tried it and it just wasn't nice.
Chips were disgusting and the wait for our food was 35minutes. We resorts noticed the staff had pints of beer in the kitchen which certainly park make me happy. There was loads of young thugs riding bikes with music boxes at around 10pm most nights sometimes a little earlier which is fine if you don't have young children who won't sleep because of it. Lots of shouting and screaming throughout the first weekend we stayed. The pool is booking only we didn't even get to go there because it was constantly busy and we never managed to get a booking slot.
The area is rural, you are miles away from everything. So if your a family that like the beach Southend waterside 49mins away and Clacton is 1hr14mins waterside. Its a little bit of a nightmare. There were park freezing facilities and with the weather at 30degress we couldn't keep our food cool. Thanks to George again he put them in his freezer.
No job was to great for George he was always helping us out and supporting us with anything we needed. He was honestly the only good thing about waterside. The arcade was an absolute joke the window was cracked, really dangerous around young children, the first few days most of the machines were broken.
When they were fixed it was adults playing on the 2p machines and not the kids. It's tiny and not even worth a visit at all. We were really disappointed by the whole week, Resorts left early the rest of my family stayed, but I essex could not deal with the place any park. I would not recommend this place at all, you will only be disappointed.
We visit park resorts every year and they are honestly just going downhill there is nothing any good about there parks anymore what so ever and the staff are just rude other than George. We won't be visiting again. Thanks for your review Stephanie. This is definitely not the experience that we would expect any of our guests to have during their holidays with us so I'm genuinely sorry to read your feedback.
We would really like to talk to you waterside your stay at Waterside. If you would like to, please send an email with your booking park and the essex of this review to: Tripadvisor. My daughter and myself were due to go camping Wednesday, but when we got there,it was 34 degrees and like a sauna in tent. Very very grateful me n my lil chick had a great time Great staff at campsite can't fault them at all the cafe was well run with food cooked to order very good value we ate there a few times and was great every time company need to try and keep the shop and cafe as it is If it wasn't for the staff and cafe this would of been an average holiday at best as park resorts need to invest in the entertainment.
I was thinking of buying a caravan but felt I wouldn't get value for ground rent. Just spent the weekend here in a motorhome. The pitch allocated to us had been used as a seasonal pitch so was really a patch of dried mud. We were quite a distance from the toilet block so I was very glad we had our own toilet facilities as I would not have fancied that walk in the middle of the night!
The Elson point was also some distance although there was a water tap nearby and we had electricity. We did not use the swimming pool but it is very small and you have park book a slot to use it. Popped to the clubhouse on the Saturday night and again this is very small and there were not enough tables and chairs to go round but the drinks were good and reasonably priced.
It also looked to be in need of a good clean so we played bingo and then left so can't comment on what the rest of the entertainment was like. Some areas of the site are pretty dismal and run down and being situation in such a rural area it essex not be a good place to holiday stay if you didn't have any transport. We would not return, especially at the extortionate pitch price!
Thanks for your resorts Ellied I'm genuinely sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay at Waterside and that you wouldn't return. It's really disappointing that you found the park to be a little tired and rundown, your feedback is really useful and I'll be sure to look into resorts issues you have brought to our attention.

We have been regular campers at waterside until 2 years ago. We went back there today to have a look at the site and grab some lunch in the cafe that was always serving lovely food. We had lunch in the cafe which has seriously gone downhill. We then asked to visit the touring area and see what the park was now.
